Introducing Notion to a New Audience
In May, our CEO, Milomir, led a workshop in Belgrade as part of the Mentor the Young program. Hosted at the House of Human Rights and Democracy, the event brought together a diverse group of students, early-career professionals, and young entrepreneurs. Most of them had never used Notion before.
The session, titled “From Chaos to Clarity: Build Your Personal Productivity System in Notion,” focused on more than just productivity. It introduced a new tool in a clear and accessible manner, and helped participants use it effectively by the end of the session.
Starting from Scratch, Building with Clarity
We began with the basics of how Notion works. What blocks are, what are pages, and finally, databases. From there, Milomir walked everyone through building their first simple system for staying organized.
The workshop was structured around three levels of productivity setups:
The Basics. A simple setup without databases, ready to use immediately after the session. Just pages, checklists, and clear sections.
Single Database. For those who wanted more structure, we introduced task tracking using a single database. This worked well for personal goals or simple projects.
Connected System. For participants who required more flexibility, we developed a modular setup utilizing multiple databases interconnected through relations and rollups. This is the closest structure Milomir uses at Taraba.
Each participant chose the level that best suited them. Everyone left with a working system that they could continue to improve on their own.
Practical Knowledge, Real Use Cases
This was not theory. Milomir demonstrated how Notion drives real workflows within our company, from managing projects and assigning tasks to tracking habits and goals. He answered questions live and demonstrated real examples based on what participants wanted to learn.
Connecting Through “Mentor the Young”
The Mentor the Young project aims to empower the next generation, and we’re proud to contribute to this mission. By sharing practical knowledge and real-world experience, we strive to help the next generation grow with confidence, curiosity, and a sense of purpose. This workshop was an excellent opportunity to connect with young, passionate individuals and support their journey of learning and development.
Growing the Notion Community in Serbia
This event is part of a bigger initiative. Milomir recently launched Notion.rs, the local Notion community hub for Serbia. It’s a platform for events, resources, and valuable content that helps individuals create their systems. Whether they are freelancers, students, or team leads.
This wasn’t a lecture. It was a guided process where everyone built their setup, step by step, directly in Notion. Whether someone was a student, manager, or entrepreneur, the goal was the same: leave with a working system that can grow with them. Milomir, as a certified Notion consultant and someone who uses this setup daily in our own company, shared exactly how he builds and maintains productivity systems.
